Hyperthreading a Precision 530, MS XP Pro, Bios Vers A05?

I have a Precision 530 MT, MS XP Professional, Bios Version A05, with one 2.0GHz Xeon CPU, and 1GB RAM.

Can I switch on hyperthreading as to emulate a second processor? If I can then could I assign IIS/Webserver tasks to one CPU and network, and foreground applications to the other CPU, and the other network?

Can anyone help?

Regards

Interesting question, I have a PWS 530 bought June 2001, with two 1.7 GHZ Ghz processors,  BIOS version A09.  There is no BIOS entry for hyper threading.  I have a PE 1600 SC server bought May 2003 woth two 2.0 Ghz XEON Processors, BIOS version a05this machine has hyper threading on, I believe it is call Logical Processor in the BIOS setup.  I have never tried to use processor affinity on either machine.

I have just taken the plunge and updated to Bios version A09. I still have the option for hyperthreading.

Still have the same question whether to emulate two CPU's with one Xeon 2GHz CPU?
