I forgot my user password, how do I reset it without having a usb password key disc?
My laptop is locked because the user password has been changed. i know the bios password by that doesn't seem to help. How can I change, reset, or recover the password without purchasing a program?

Sorry, that didn't answer my question. My initial problem is when I turn on my laptop, I've set up myself as a user so when I start the laptop it ask for the user password, but that's been changed. Nothing to do with Microsoft or a live account. This is an administrated user password.

If this is a BIOS Password, contact Dell with proof of ownership. If in warranty, no charge. If out of warranty, there will be a fee.
