I keep getting the same error message, can someone please help?
Dell Dimension 9100
Windows XP SP2
1 GB ram
250GB HD
DVD rom
DVD RW
Floppy drive
IE 7
Can someone please help me figure this out? When I am in Windows and the computer is running fine, I will get the error message "An Unexpected Error has caused Windows to shut down, you will lose all of your data" and then Windows will stay but the program will terminate. I usually click on Don't Send when it asks me if I want to send an error report to Microsoft. I thought it was my Norton Internet Security anti virus program, so I straightened that out by deleting it, rebooting the computer, making sure there were no files left on the pc, and then reinstalling the program. But that didn't seem to do the trick. Also, sometimes when I try to log off the computer, I'll get the message that the program is not responding, and I'll have to do CTRL ALT DEL. The box comes up as ccAPP.exe. I'm pretty sure that is Norton. Can somebody please tell me what to do, or do I need to do a complete reinstall of Windows? I always keep the computer updated with the latest Windows updates. I also keep my programs updated. This is beginning to be a real hassle. Is there someone out there that knows what to do? I have had this computer for 2 years now. The hard drive was replaced once. I ran a diagnostics on the HD and it passed. It's a Western Digital. I'm tired of fighting with this computer.
