Icon does not go away

Question

Hi.  I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question but here goes.  I had bought the Logitech MX5000 keyboard/mouse combo with BlueTooth.  When I installed everything, I had problems one after the other with this product and I wasn't the only one.  Anyways no matter what I tried it wasn't working properly and something would always stop working, etc. etc. etc.  I got tired of it so uninstalled the whole thing and put my Micorosoft keyboard/mouse combo back which I never have problems with (but wanted to try something different that's why I bought the Bluetooth).  Anyways I am trying to get my money back from Logitech for that product and now I find that the My Bluetooth Places icon on my deskstop will not go away.  There is no way to delete it.  There is nothing in add/remove about this and if I right click on it there is no delete.  Any suggestions on how to get rid of this icon?  Thanks.

there may be an option in control panel>bluetooth to show/hide the icon.

I don't see anything in the Control Panel that would hide that icon, to hide any of the icons actually.  Any other suggestions?

Have you tried dragging it to the Recycle Bin? You may have to reboot in Safe Mode to drag it into the Bin.   Ron Message Edited by RoHe on 03-15-2008 05:55 PM

It doesn't want to leave the desktop even when I drag it to the Recycle Bin.  If I do that with any other icon it goes in and disappears from the desktop but not that icon, it stays.  I am not familiar with starting my computer in safe mode at all.

'I am not familiar with starting my computer in safe mode at all'   From Windows help: 'if your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you will need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.'

I found the folder for that Bluetooth and was able to get rid of it, it's gone now.  Thanks.
