I.E. 7 --- Outlook Express shutting down after program opening

Question

I have I.E. 7 ---  Outlook Express 6...    it does this only once or maybe twice a day; but after pressing the 'Read Mail' button and program opens I get the error messsage:   Microsoft Visual C++ Run time error!! Program:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimv.exe Abnormal Program Termination...  I have to press 'Okay' and the program shuts down and returns to I.E. 7   I was on Dell Chat customer support for 1 1/2 hours last night and technician said he'd call me back..    He left a message on phone mail he would call back today...   Do any of you have any idea's what could be wrong.   This doesn't seem like it should be a major thing; but it sure is pesky!

After telling you that there was an error message when Outlook Express 6 shut down prematurely, I just tried to 'read mail,' it opened for about 2 seconds, made the default sound and shut itself down and went to I.E. 7 browser...  ((aggravating!!))

After spending 1 1/2 hours with Dell chat last night because of Outlook Express 6.0 shutting down prematurely with Internet Explorer 7.0...   this evening  a nice chap called from Dell technical assistance, he had me UNinstall I.E. 7.0 and REinstall it.     He told me they had received several complaints with I.E. 7.0...        the way he talked I think he would have preferred me stay with I.E. 6.0 Even though I get frustrated with Dell chat since I set up my 410, my computer has met and exceeded my expectations.  I 'firmly' believe Dell is the best computer on the market. Stan
