IE disk space keeps changing

I have a Dell 2400 with XP Home SP1.  Internet Explorer 6 SP1 is my web browser.   I have IE set to use 40MB of hard disk space, yet every so often, I'll check and it is mysteriously changed to 2382MB.  I've noticed this 3 times in the past week.  Any ideas why?

Check for spyware and viruses.  Go to www.download.com and search for spybot search and destroy, adaware, and spyware blaster.  Update them all with new definitions before you run them.  See if that helps.

As far as security, I have....

1)  Norton AV 2003 running, set to automatically update

2)  I run Spybot S&D twice a week, and always check for updates

3)  I run Ad-Aware 6 twice a week, and always check for updates.

4)  I have Windows Update set to automatically check for updates

5)  I delete my TEMP files every night, and delete cookie files about twice a week.

6)  Windows XP firewall is turned on.

Well, I guess I'm spent then.  Hopefully someone else will know what's up.  Sorry I couldn't help!

I know what is causing IE's disk space number to keep changing.  Everytime I use the Windows XP CD Writing Wizard the number is changed from the default number to 2382MB.  Anyone got an idea why this happens?
