IE errors when CLOSING IE
I am getting an Internet Explorer error when closing IE. I can browse websites and do everything. When closing IE, I get an Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close- We are sorry for the inconvience. Information on Error- "Click here"-
Debug or Close.
Neither option fixes the problem.
The info contained in "Click Here" is as follows:
AppName: iexplore.exe    Appversion:6.0.2800.1106  ModName: shdocvw.dll
ModVer: 6.0.2800.1400Â Â Â Â Â Â Offset: 0000a110
The problem started about one week ago or so. I Restored back to Sept.1, but the problem still continues. Should I try replacing this shdocvw.dll file?

Try this first. Go to Start|Run, enter cmd and click OK. At the command prompt enter regsvr32 shdocvw.dll (space after "32") and click . If that doesn't correct the problem, try replacing the file using System File Checker. Go to Start|Run, enter sfc /scannow (space after "sfc") and click OK. You may be prompted to insert your Windows XP reinstallation CD.

Did you previously install XP SP2?
