Creeper:

I tried what you suggested, but it didn't work. I got a message stating "Internet Explorer 6 could not be repared". The 'details' section mentioned that the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\msapsspc.dll may be corrupted.

Any more suggestions? Thanks, Dan

Dan2108,

Do you have the latest updates for ie? If you do try a repair.

Go to start-settings-control panel-add/remove. Look for your version of internet explorer and select it. Of the choices you are presented with select repair. O.K. your way out and reboot.

Post back with your results.

Hi Creeper & everybody:

The problem  turned out to be caused by spyware. I downloaded, installed and ran version 6 of AdAware, and the problem was solved. If anybody is receiving a message that mentions "an error in TPS108.DLL", this works as well.

AdAware 6.1 can be downloaded from http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=506&file=3&evp=8dbaff7daca8f4b55bf695220993fc0f
