Denny Denham,

Thank you.  I looked and the properties of both ICONS were directed correctly.  I tried to create a new shortcut as you suggested.  The shortcut was created but it too, will not lauch IE.  I appreciate your help.  Any other suggestions?

flyboyber,

The shortcuts may be corrupted. Right-click either icon and choose "Properties" from the context menu. In both cases the entry in the Target: box should be "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" (including quotation marks). If they are not, right-click and delete both then go to iexplore.exe in Windows Explorer, right-click and select "Send to|Desktop (create shortcut). You can then drag the new icon from the desktop to the Quick Launch toolbar so it will be located in both places.

It might depend upon what you mean by 'not launching'.

If you are getting an error code, you can search for it on the Internet (or Microsoft website).
If you click it and nothing happens, maybe you need to re-associate your shortcuts.

Or maybe... it's a virus. Can you run you Anti-Virus or Internet Security programs and update them? Some viruses can stop programs from running.

You can do a free online virus check from Symantec here. Click the Virus Detection option, install the ActiveX controls and let it scan your system. I think you must be administrator to do this.
