Click on Tools then Internet Options and under the heading Multimedia make sure show pictures has a check mark in the box.

He left one step out. internet options/advanced/multimedia/show pictures.

Hi,
 
I tried the suggestions from you guys unfortunately they did not work. I noticed a small button in there though which said "reset" on it I pressed this and it made IE7 go back to the default settings.
 
I can now see pictures again!
