Inspiron 1501- Error Codes 4E0F:075D & 4E0F:1A44

Question

Before posting this I have scooted around the internet & this forum looking for answers, I think I have it, but as a non-techy I need some re-assurance. Laptop suddenly stopped booting up, does Dell splash screen, Windows Boot up screen, Advanced Options Screen on an eternal loop. Ran a full diagnostic last night, and got these two messages; Error Code 4E0F:075D IDE Device failed  The self test failed the read portion of the test Error Code 4E0F:1A44 Block 120362075 uncorrectable data error or media is write protected   I presume the hard drive has bad sectors and they have spread causing the hard drive to fail completely? I also presume that no data is recoverable from the disk? Any help/advice/therapy gratefully received! :emotion-1:

Hi You are right the drive is dead you might try mounting it in a usb case and get to the info that way ! The drive did the same thing on my 1501 about 2 months ago . Good Luck
