Install Adobe Reader 8.1 Error 146 comes up

I went to update my Adobe and the errror 146 said I could not write value to key. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key\software\classes\typelib\{5f226421-415d-408d-9a09- 0dcd94e25b48}.

If any one has a suggestion on the problem please let me know

thank you

Try going to control panel/add/remove and remove adobe reader.  Then it should install without a problem.

Remove Adobe Reader again and redownload a fresh version of it and try again.  When you get the download, save it to your desktop and shutdown.  Turn your computer on and click the F8 key until a screen opens.  Choose safemode and install Adobe.  Do a normal restart.

Adobe makes me batty sometimes -- I know, I know, it's heavily used, that's why I have to use it but anyway, I'm having a problem when I copy and paste text.

I'll select and clip copy and constantly get an error from Adobe, but the text will both copy and paste just fine.

Clueless what it could be and did try an uninstall-reinstall, but it's still doing it. I'm just living with it, but it gets annoying sometimes.
