Install updates

What is the best way to choose how windows  installs updates? I am not sure about the best way to check the settings.  I have vista home premium. I got the service pack by going to the Microsoft site. I didn't change any drivers and it is working great.

I have mine set to "Notify me when update are avaliable". That way

you control what and when they install.

I suggest you do not let Microsoft update "Drivers", get those from manufactors site and only if needed.

on the left you can "Check for Updates" to check now.

and also on the left you can click "Change Settings" to adjust when your computer checks for updates itself.

I have mine set to auto install daily at 11:00pm.

Do you have download updates but let me choose whether to install them  or check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them checked?

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them checked. Then you can review what it is avalible and what you want to install.
