install xp on second partition
I want to install XP on another partition (keep the old installation for a while as backup/reference), but I don't have a XP OS cd nor Dell™ OS Recovery Utility.
How can I make a XP OS cd or is there another way to install XP (not a full clean install/recovery)?
System: Dimension 8300 (januari 2004)

hi Frank1703
will there is no way you can create another OS cd from the current OS that installed in your system. reading your second question {
is there another way to install XP (not a full clean install/recovery }will you can install windows XP on the same paration but you will have to select a different folder during the installation but for this you need to have a windows xp cd this installation method is called as parallel installation. Sending you a link which will give you a idea on how to do parallel reinstallation steps remains same for both Xp home and professionalhttp://www.windowsreinstall.com/winxppro/installxpcdparallell/part1.htm
good luck and god bless

Dell's policy is enunciated here. You should not have a problem (particularly if you are still under warranty).
