You already know the process, change the first boot device to be the CD ROM and delete the existing partition to go with a clean install.
To correctly identify your compmenets, downloafd a program named Belarc Advisor (www.belarc.com) and this will give you the exact information you need to correctly identify all you drivers. XP will load most of the generic drivers you need, but some custom components shoudl runn the drivers supplied only by the manufacturer.
Thanks. I don't know about the computer. I wonder if it is worth the purchasing of Windows XP Pro to install on it or if computer ought to be trashed! I am afraid it may be nothing but trouble. It will not read floppies and it is brand new.
