Installed Windows 7 successfully, Dell Notebook System Software driver will not install
I want to update my drivers after the new OS install. You're supposed to install Dell Notebook System Software driver first and when I try to, it says "This computer does not support this operating system." Thoughts?

Hello,
It will help if you provide your system model number, and if Windows 7 is 32 bit, or 64 bit. :emotion-55:

XPS M1210
Went from 32-bit XP to 32-bit Windows 7.

Hello again,
This is, and will be a problem for many Dell customers.
I doubt that Dell will ever create new file/drivers for Windows 7 if the system is not a current model. I have input from other regulars here that most files required by older Dell systems, and not provide by Dell will be included in Windows 7 itself or on the Windows update site. :emotion-52:

I just want to be able to use things like my mouse scroll bar. Are you saying this is not possible with Windows 7? Also, I've been told that installing drivers out of order is bad. Will some drivers work or do you think all will not? Thanks.

Since the release of vista and now with Win 7 the reloading of drivers in a particular order has been pretty much been a non issue. What one needs to do is open up device manager and note which driver listing have any bangs next to them.
I am going to guess you trired to load the Vista version of the NSS? If you look in device manager and note no problem drivers I would not worry about it. As for your mouse driver i would suggest you look HERE and select the vista version of the mouse software that you have. Look under the input device drivers listing.
Also keep a watch on windows update to see if one is pushed to you. And unlike before it is now almost recommended to let windows update your device drivers if one shows up on windows update. These will usually be under optional updates.

Desktop/Notebook System Software is only for Windows XP. It has nothing to do with your mouse. In the Start box type Mouse and go to Mouse properties to change settings. If you have a Microsoft Mouse you can download the Intellipoint software at the MS Mouse web site.
