installing favorites from aol

HI just installed xp pro on a new HD, dont want to install AOL on it.So I copied my favorites from aol to a floppy disk.My question is can I install them to the IE favorites.Or can I install the old hard drive as a secondary drive and transfer them that way, It has ME on it.

The favotites are just shortcuts to the sites. You can put them in your favorites folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Favorites

I recently went through that when I got cable. I am pretty sure the AOL favorites files are in a different format from those in IE. My cable company gave me access to special software to migrate my Favorites, Address Book, and Filing Cabinet. I had tried it via floppy and it didn't work.

Sorry, I did not realise that, but perhaps I should have guessed that AOL would do things differently. They make life hard with all their proprietory stuff, which is why many people here keep well away.

IE 6, file menu, import and export wizard might be able to import the AOIL favorites from the floppy and convert them. I suggest you try that.
