Installing QuickTime

Somehow my QuickTime program got clobbered.  I went to Apple's website and attempted to install QuickTime for Windows using the QT 7 installer.  When the installation was just about finished i got the following error message. 

 

"Could not open key  HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\Software\Class\QuicktimePlayerlib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CLSID.  Verify tha you have sufficent access to that key or contact your sopport personnel."

 

This is my home PC (XP operating syatem) so there is no support person to contact.
