Installing the Operating System

I've been told that the correct order to install the operating system is as follows, Windows, SP2, Video drivers, Chipset drivers, Audio drivers and then everything else as far as software. Is this the best configuration or what is the order to install other software such as java, defragging programs etc.

You should install the chipset drivers before attempting to install any other device drivers.  Depending on your system, Windows will not be able to recognize or install drivers for any device integrated on the motherboard until the chipset drivers are installed.
