Installing Windows XP on Inspiron
I want to increase my hard drive capacity but before I do I would like to know the following.
Can I take my Dell PC Windows XP Pro (OEM) re-installation CD and install it on my Dell laptop?

Hi, XP Home and XP Pro are 2 different OS's. You cant use the Home on a Pro system, and the Pro on a Home system.

If the laptop also came with the exact same version of Windows then you can use it. Otherwise you cannot as it is legally only licensed for the sytem it was delivered with. If you use it, you may not be able to activate the laptop with the same product key.

Laptop came with Windows XP Home.
My PC as noted came with XP Pro. That is the OS CD i want to use. Both Dells.
