installing windows xp sp2
i have the SP2 cd...i installed it and now i don't know if it's done...the progress box for installing disappeared and now i dont know what to do next...there is nothing on the screen at this time except for my desktop icons and desktop background...IS WINDOWS XP SP2 done installing????....or is it still processing???....i tried to restart but it gives me a box for ending windows xp program so i cancelled it....im scared to go through with the restart cuz i've done it before and i had to reinstall SP2 again...if anyone can help please respond...im getting frustrated with installing SP2....what should i do...just wait???

you have the correct SP2 install. If, however, it has a number that begins
with a 01, 02 or 03 or any number less than 040803 after the xpsp2, such as
Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633 : Service Pack 2" then you definitely have a
machine in the partially installed state."

I don't have SP2 installed yet. If you want to install it, the best way is to order the (free) CD from MS:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx
You should get it in a few days.
