InstallShield problem

I have a new C521 and had a problem installing a printer.  I now want to delete it but when I go to uninstall programmes I get the message 'InstallShield (R) Setup Launcher has stopped working'.
I know nothing about InstallShield and haven't a clue what to do.  Any help out there please?

Try by unplugging the printer from the comouter, also open the Task Manager and go to the processes TAB, then look for a process named, spoolsv.exe, end that proces (maybe is not present). Also click on the Start (Pearl) and then type SERVICES on the search bar, click on services, look for Printer spooler right click on it, and stop it... Try now to uninstall the program, then restart the computer, to make sure the services run normal.

Thanks, I have tried that but still no joy.  It is the software parts of the printer installation which are still hanging in there.  It possibly doesn't matter too much but I don't see why they cannot be deleted.

Also you can try by disabling all STARTUP and SERVICES to run at startup and uninstall that software. Then re-enable  all of them

I have tried that but the darned things will still not go.  It must be an Installshield problem.  I have googled them and shall try searching around for a fix somewhere, but I'm not really sure what I am doing, whether I should try to reinstall it or not.  I don't even know what it is - except for the clue in the name of course!!

Well the InstallShield is basically the application that manage everysingle install/uninstall on a system, When you install something the installshield start and install that application. It could be giving you troubles because Vista installed native driver to your printer, and it's making a conflict with the driver you get on support.dell.com

If you don't have info to lose, I'll suggest to d oa PCrestore, and then install the driver for the printer, but from support.dell.com not acepting to install when Vista gave you an option to install a driver(Recommended).

Ah well there I have a problem, because I have already returned the wretched printer and discs etc to the supplier as I was so fed up with it and now want to just get it out of my life!  I really appreciate your interest in what is a really stupid problem.
When I installed Open Office the other day a program called RegCure came with it.  I am fussy about what I put in my machine and haven't yet installed it, but wonder if it might be worth running it to see if it might sort things out?
