Intel Application Accelerator

Recently, I had to reformat my hd and reinstall a clean copy of Windows XP after a crash.  After installing all my drivers, I tried to install Intel Application Accelerator but after every install of this driver I get the blue screen crash.  Then I have to go back to the last good settings.  Can anyone let me know what could be causing this problem.  Also, on the first time after the install I get a MSJAVX86.exe and C:\$MFT error message.  I've researched both problems and one is for the Java Machine but I couldn't find much information regarding the second error.

Is there any way I can install Intel Application Accelerator w/o getting the blue screen crash.  I have a Dell Dimension 4400.

Thanks for any help.

Oh, also on the initial login I received the Java Machine and the C:\$MFT error, but I don't get these errors now.  Only the Intel Application Accelerator blue screen crash everytime I tried to install this driver.

When you did the re-install of Windows XP did you also install the Dell Chipset driver?  This driver is the one that is frequently forgotten about during the re-installation of the operating system and needs to be the first driver installed before any other ones.  If you didn't install the Dell Chipset driver possibly the Intel Application Accelerator can not install properly without it in place.

What I would do is get your system up and running using the original drivers that came with the system.  Then once you have ironed out all the little bugs then install the Intel Application Accelerator update.

If you continue to have problems then you might consider posting in the Software - Windows XP forum.  That forum would be a better venue in which to resolve re-installation problems and it reaches a much wider audience.  You can click here for a direct link to that forum.

You can click here for the latest drivers in the Dell File Library for your model.
