You need to tell us which model computer you have.  Alternatively, you can click on the Product Support tab in the upper left of the Dell Forum window, enter your system service tag or computer model then go to the downloads link and download the driver for your integrated intel video adapter.

Agreed you need to post the model#, but a few things most people dont know or do...
Dell systems usually come with several disk for restore purposes, Windows installs from one and alot of the system drivers are installed by XP's legacy support and may not be the best or correct driver. . Some of your hardware may not be installed at all you have to check your device manager to see. After a restore most people dont know to install the drivers and software bundle.
Other disk that came with a Dell system have a browser like interface and you select the drivers and applications you want or need to install, some of the disk detect the hardware and list all that apply to your machine.
Another point on Intel drivers, after the release of XP service pack 2 you have to update your intel video drivers, the new ones are "Intel Extreme Graphics". This is just for the later Intel chipsets, most of the older ones last update was released in 2001. Windows updates site was offering the updated driver, if you do a custom install...but it's better to get it from Intel or here at the Dell site.

My computer is a Dimension 3000, purchased in May 2005.

After reading my first reply, I went to Product Support and downloaded and ran the Intel 82865G Graphics Controller under Video Devices.   I didn't see any difference as the graphics were still large and fuzzy.  After rebooting, I got a message to change the display setting to 800 x 600 resolution or higher.  So I clicked on that and the graphics went back to normal size.  I think all is okay now.  Hopefully.  Regarding the second reply to my query, do I need to install anything more?  Do I need to update?  Did I miss anything?

Thank you for your help.  :smileyhappy:
