Internet Connection Needed for Initial PC Setup?
I'm wondering if I need to be connected to the internet when I push the 'Power' button for the very first time on my soon-to-arrive Studio XPS 8100.
I'd rather setup my wireless network first, and perform some other initial setup tasks, and then connect to the internet (for Windows Update, virus definition updates, etc.)
Second question: Does Dell pre-activate my copy of Windows 7, or will I need to activate Windows once I'm connected to the internet?
Thanks for your help.

Daddy X.
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
You do not need to be connected to the internet when you are setting up your system. Once you have completed the setup you can then connect to the internet and install updates
You should not have to validate Windows.
