Which antispyware tool have you used.  There is no single piece of antispyware software that fixes everything.  I suggest that you go Here and follow the directions to download and run the analysis tool called HijackThis. Generate a log file, then open it and copy and paste the text of the log file in a message in the HijackThis forum http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board?board.id=si_hijack where a HijackThis expert can offer advice on how to fix the problem.

Are you running Antivirus software with up to date virus definitions?  Have you scanned your system for spyware and removed all that is found?

Update:

I followed your advice and submitted a HJT file, after running all the various utilities they asked us to run. As of yet, I haven't received any feedback.

Meanwhile, on a lot of IE shutdowns, I get the following message:

"The instruction at '0x7c93426d' referenced memory at '0x00000000.' The memory could not be read."

Any suggestions???

Thanx!!!

There are so many people infected with spyware that are posting on the HJT board, that it takes a while for the few experts over there to help everyone.  I can't offer any more advice on Intenet Explorer until the HJT experts have eliminated all possiblity of spyware.  Since spyware is currently causing about 90% of the errors being reported in Internet Explorer, we need to eliminate that first.

Anyone know where IE6 sp2 can be downloaded for reinstallation. The one on my system is getting worse daily- won't even run Windows Upddate without shutting down or crashing.

Meanwhile, I've learned what a great & fast browser Mozilla Firefox is- just don't have the couple add-ons I use the most from IE...

SOLUTION:

Looks like an add-on was causing the problem. Disabled all add-ons until problem went away.
Hope it lasts!!!
