Is this problem related in anyway to framework 1.1 or 2 since sometimes when I shut down my system an error appears regarding 1.1 framework, on rebooting a small blank box appears which closes normally without any apparent problems.
I also have a problem connecting now my xbox360 to my media extender, the windowsmediaconnect2 works fine ?!
Any ideas.

Many (most) cases of IE 7 hanging are due to addons (e.g. Google toolbar and similar) that were in IE6 before IE7 was installed, and that are not compatible with IE7.
The install of IE 7 creates a shortcut in System tools to open IE 7 with addons all disabled.
Or if you don't have that create a shortcut right click on it, clicK properties and in the targEt line type
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"  -extoff
(including "").

If IE7 is stable without addons, you can go IE7, Tools menu (or tools icon in command bar), manage addons and renable them one by one until you find the on causing the problem.

Several addons, such as Google toolbar have updates to make them compatible with IE 7, so when you find the troublesome addon, you can see if there is an update.
