Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Occasionally (and seemingly more frequent) I get the following:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

This happens on ALL websites I try to access.  If I close I.E. and try Mozilla, SAME!  The only way I have found to clear this "anomalie" is to reboot. Then all is fine for a while.

Suggestions??

Take a look at what Microsoft has to say about this.

When this happens is it www.amazon.com in the address bar or http://www.amazon.com?  Sounds silly, I know (you haven't needed to type in the HTTP since waaay back when) but try it.

My laptop (Vista Ultimate was doing the same thing).  I reloaded both the hardwired (LAN) and wireless drivers (the wireless was an update) and it worked - but for a time, on occasion, if I didn't put in HTTP I could not go anyware.

Give the network drivers a reload and see if the issue goes away.

Thanks for the tip - Today when it happened I ran some tests:  (1) can ping all pc's on my home network (2) can ping internet web IP addresses (3) CANNOT ping URL's ! (DHCP problem??)

But a few minutes after doing all that, the darn thing started working again, without rebooting.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Apparently not a browser issue as it happens on both I.E. and Mozilla.
