internet explorer closing itself

Question

I just recently began using AOL to connect to the internet.  I was able to use the Internet Explorer browser at first, then I guess a website prompted an error message to come up. I thought it was a popup so I closed it without reading it, and now every time I try to use IE it closes itself as SOON as the page is done loading. It WILL connect to any website but as soon as its loaded it closes.  If I keep hitting reload it will stay open, but not after its done 'thinking.'  Anyone else have this problem?  I tried restarting the computer, downloading a new version of internet explorer, but nothing works. Please help! Michelle
