Internet Explorer Error

For a couple days now when I attempt to open a folder or file from a short-cut on my desktop, often I get a message that says something like..Internet Explorer has encounterd a problem and needs to close..Then I have the option to send or not send a report. What could be causing this? I havent done anything different lately. Also I have noticed today when I close a program using ..file-close or using the X on top right side, the program seems to freeze for about 20 seconds before it closes. I have run Ad-Aware and virus scan and came up clean. I also delete cookies and Temp files several time a day as well as run scandisk and defrag couple times a week. Any suggestions anyone? Thank you,

I use IE 6.0

Win 98se

384 MB ram

19 GB HD, 16 GB free

When you get the error message to send the report to Microsoft, click on the link to show details of the report.  Then write down the ModName and AppName involved in the error and report here.

Steve, before I got your last reply, I did do a search for Rovion.dll and came up empty. I think it might be associated with macromedia flash player. It seems for a week or so when visiting web pages I would get this pop-up asking if I wanted to download the latest player. I think Rovion was mentioned in the pop-up. I cant remember accepting the latest DL. The one I have goes back to Sept. of 03, listed in ..Start-find Files. Two folders, Macromedia and Macromedia.com. This problem just started recently.

Macromedia or Rovion is not listed in ..start-settings-control panel -ad-remove programs or in..start-programs list

I did a search for rovion.dll and came up with nothing useful.  Are you sure it is spelled correctly? Have you installed any software or downloaded anything to change the way you view web pages since this problem started?  A search on Rovion did come up with some hits, but I'm not sure how they would apply to your situation.  See if you can do a search on your computer for the file rovion.dll.  When you find it, right click on it and select Properties from the drop down menu and see if you can get a hint about who produces this file and what it might be used for.
