It would really help if you wrote down the error message and post it here. Spelling counts.

I am having a similar problem.  I reformatted my computer last week with the help of dell tech support.  Now when I go to certain sites such as my banks web site internet explorer keeps saying it has encountered a problem adn needs to close.  Sorry for the inconveince.  I clicked on details before closing the window and this is what it says which I believe is similar to the preious poster here.

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown

ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 85000000

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Both of you appear to be having trouble accessing secure sites. Here is a query I put into the MS Support site with several returns:

http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?mode=s&cat=false&query=internet+explorer+6.0+secure+web+site&srch=sup&x=5&y=5

Hopefully browsing these will help you.
