Internet Explorer low resolution on web images

I have a new Inspiron 6000 running XP with a 128Mb ATI Radeon video chip and an SXGA widescreen.  Photo images and videos look great, but in Internet Explorer, I get low resolution images.  For instance, the "Dell" at the top of this site has fuzzy edges.  Fonts look sharp and clear.  It almost looks as if the PC is set for one of those dialup services that tries to speed up page loading by reducing image size.  However, I get 54Mbps on my wireless connection to cable, and don't need to speed up page loading.

I have gone through the advanced options in IE, but found nothing that successfully changes the image resolution.  I finally downloaded Mozilla Firefox-- guess what?  All the web images look perfect using that browser-- stunningly sharp, really.  I'm sure it's some kind of IE setting-- can anyone give me a clue?  I also tried searching the web and came up with a big nothing.

Yeah, I know I should just use Firefox, but there are still some pages out there that only work with IE, including my bank.  And besides, this is annoying me and I want to fix it even if I don't use IE much.

Okay, folks, I found it myself.  It's in the Dell utility Quickset that puts a blue Q with yellow S in your system tray.  It allows you to change power management, presentation mode, fonts and icons, etc.  One choice is Internet Explorer Scaling.  I disabled it, and now my graphics in Explorer look just fine.  Hope this helps someone else out!
