Internet explorer question

i don't know if it can be change or not but every time i try to search it brings up a list of what i have searched for in the past.  i'm not talking about the IE bar or the google toolbar but search engines in general (ex: yahoo.com, google.com).  i know how to clear the search results on my IE and Google toolbar but what about when i go to these sites and use there search.  its annoying, any way to turn it off or get rid of the feature
