Internet Explorer Script Error, Error in loading DLL

When booting up I get the following error, it also pops up periodically while I'm working. I feel it has to do with the desktop loading or refreshing, but can't be sure.

An error has occured in the script on this page.
Line:  30
Char:  3
Error:  Error in loading DLL
Code:  0
URL:  file:///C:/Program%20Files/Dell%20Support%20Center/sscommon/common/inc/ss_shellinclude.js

I have noticed I am not the only one experiencing thisproblem but I have not seen a resolution. I see work arounds, but disabling things without fully knowing what you are disabling is not a good practice. I am a web developer and turning off script errors is not an option, and disabling Dell Support is also not a good idea.

Is there a solution for this without disabling anything. This suddenly started about 3 weeks ago and it is annoying. I beleive is was after I updated with SP1 (or 2, can't remember), but I'm not positive.

fyi, I am running Windows Vista Home.

I've had a similar experience:  I have a 3-week-old Studio 14z, W7 64bit. I'm generally quite satisfied, with one exception:: it won't stop throwing script errors at me. These have been plentiful and plenty irritating.

In most cases they have been associated with marketing things to me that I never ordered, like Lojack or online backup.  As I deleted those startups, they went away, but we're down to a frequently recurring few, like "g_logger is undefined" and "Error in loading DLL".  Since we'll never run out of DLLs, deletion is ever less an option.

They mostly happen right at startup, not in MIE.  I'm moving toward at least shutting off the auto-start for Dell Support Soft (I've unchecked it in msconfig, but haven't taken it out of the registry yet -- so far, so good) .  I agree with you that I don't feel I should have to be ripping out wires, software-wise, on a new machine, and am less than comfortable having to maintain an adversarial relationship with the manufacturer's aggressive marketing tools.  But a faulty product is a faulty product, and a background service that won't stay in the background is ultimately one best done without.

I bought this notebook for home on a domestic account, but I also buy a modest amount of Dell hardware at work.  The business-side machines are always cleaner because they're afraid of making thousands of IT guys mad.  On home machines, there's more of a "because we can" attitude.

I just receive a solution for this. Apparently something is glitchy with Dell Support Center. I un-installed it, downloaded a newer version from Dell, and re-installed. The problem is gone. Here's the download page from Dell: http://www.dell.com/content/topics/global.aspx/services/en/dsc_home?c=us&l=en

Thanks for posting this problem and, more importantly, the solution.  This solution also worked for me.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I had this problem on my brand new laptop and when I called Dell Tech Support, they wanted to charge me over $100 to fix the problem because apparently the warranty doesn't cover any software problems even if they're Dell's.  What a joke!  Luckily I checked this site instead and it seems to have fixed my problem.  You rock!!
