Internet Explorer - Stacking Error??

Operating System:  Windows XP

I am on the internet (Internet Explorer) for no more than 10 minutes when
the following error messages occur all simultaneously:
Error Message #1 - "Unspecified Error"
Error Message #2 - "Stack Overflow"
Error Message #3 - "Access violation @ address
                    01AB198C in Module 20E6920"

Result:  Shuts me down immediately forcing me to reboot only to be shut down again in 10 to 15 minutes.  I have no idea what this means or what might be causing it?

If you're running Win98 you can try this.

Goto Start> Run> in the box type in MSCONFIG > OK. When Msconfig opens click on the config.sys tab. Then if you don't have any of the following, add them with the 'new' button one line at a time, then reboot. No guarantee this will fix your problem but it is a good way to start.

STACKS=64,512
FILES=60
BUFFERS=40

cnickc,

The procedure will not work because XP does not have a config.sys file. Since the error is occurring in Internet Explorer, try reinstalling it using the procedure given here.

Thank you for your response.  I should have indicated that I am using XP.  Do you think it will make any difference?
