Internet

I was given a Dell XPS m140 laptop has Windows XP on it and it says that it's connected to our Wi-Fi but it's like I can't get on the internet I can't login with it's got aol on it and Internet Explorer but I can't log in that way I can't get on the internet that way and there's no search bar I for me to download Google or anything like that I'm sure I'm missing something I don't know how to get on the internet with this thing but it says I'm connected help me please bit
