Invalid Windows 8.1 product key

I've got an XPS 15 running Widows 8.1 with 1TB HDD and 32GB mSATA.  I want to upgrade the mSATA to a Samsung 500GB and use that for software and the HDD for storage.  The OS is on the 32gb mSATA, so when I install the new mSATA I will need reinstall the OS.  I went to the Microsoft website to download an .ISO of Windows 8.1 but it tells me my Windows 8.1 product code is invalid!  I retrieved the product code from the registry using RW-Everything as there was no sticker on the outside (or inside) of the computer.  Any clues?

One of the things which have highly annoyed us. Microsoft do not allow download of Windows 8/8.1 for an OEM license.

You need to call Dell Technical Support to procure a Windows 8.1 Reinstallation DVD and clean install after changing the SATA operation (the 32 GB SSD should be a cache drive).

All good now.  I got the OS DVD from Dell, made an image, put the image on a bootable USB stick and after a bit of playing in the BIOS I now have W8.1 running from the 500GB mSATA and will use the 1TB HDD for storage.  Works well.

Thanks Philip.  I've already contacted Dell by phone and they said they'd call me back.  Hopefully today...

Let me know how you get along.

Once you get the media see my Windows Reinstallation Guides/A Clean Install of Windows:

http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-windows/

These will take you through the install including changing the SATA operation.
