Although I dislike iTunes, I helped someone once before by installing the klite Codec pack. I suggest you try two things.
1. Uninstall iTunes, next install the Klite codec pack. I general install without the player and set associations to WIndows Media Player. Then try installing iTunes, now try burning to a CD.
2. Install FreeMake Audio Convertor convert the songs you wish to burn to mp3 and burn to the CD using Microsoft Windows Media Player.
I use Nero for CD burning, but I've burned ITunes purchased albums via the iTunes CD burning feature and did not have any problems. This is on a Windows 7 64 bit OS system.
