You could try changing the settings in the Java Console. Go to Control Panel, choose Java, then change the settings that you think might be causing the problem.

 

Also make sure you have the latest version by visiting this page. Install the newer version if it says so.

 

Or try going (in Internet Explorer), Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > scroll down to Java (Sun) and uncheck the box below it that says 'require restart'.
