javascript not supported by your web browser
I've used taxcut software for many years and now I can't use it correctly due to the message "javascript not supported by your web browser". Using tax cut seems to be the only time I get this warning. Due to this problem I can't view any of the videos or help screens within TaxCut. I've gone into IE tools and made sure all radio buttons were activated, I restarted the computer and still no luck. I've downloaded (I think) the latest IE updates and still no luck. I am on a Dell Dimension 2400 with windows XP. I do have my computer set up for automatic updates from microsoft. I was able to use another web site the other day via AOL where I saw at the bottom of my screen showed that javascript was being used as I viewed the site. Can anyone provide suggestions of what may be wrong?
Thanks,
HiJam

Rick,
Thanks for the quick reply, but I downloaded the lates JavaScript from their web site as you suggested, and I still have the same problem. Any other suggestions?

Sun's JRE (which you downloaded) has nothing to do with Javascript. In Internet Explorer you say you checked all the radio buttons. Did you go to Tools|Internet Options|Security tab, click the Custom Level button and make sure all three items under "Active Scripting" are enabled?

Denny,
Yes, I went to IE/tools/internet options/security and custom and made sure all buttons were enabled. I've done this before, but it doesn't help.
