Javascript

When I try to watch videos or get on certain sites that need to open a new window I get this message "Shortcut to javascript; void(0)"  what does this mean and how can I fix my computer so I can view everything?

Void is special JavaScript reserved keyword that tells the browser to ignore any return values.
Can you give an example of a site address where this happens.

This is the site link of some videos I wanted to watch but got the void message.  Can you help me be able to view these videos.  It's a hometown site with videos of a kids show I watched when I was younger.  It has happened on a couple other sites but I can't remember which ones now.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

The site info says;
Watch Old Episodes Of The Uncle Al Show

Please note that our video is available in Real Video format only.

ie:  5/55 Uncle Al Show: Princess Twinkle

Is the above one of the videos you can't watch.

As the info says you need a Real Player installed , do you have it installed.
I do & played OK for me.

Well I've tried everything and it still won't work.  So I guess I'll just give up.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the java.  Tried it without java and it still wouldn't work.  Thanks for your help.  If you can think of anything else I can try let me know.

OK , I just updated my old Real Player to RealOne Player & when I right click on any Video link of site it shows Address: javascript:void(0)  (URL)
When I click on Video link it auto loads a small RealOne Player windows & auto downloads the Video & Plays OK.

As your IE Browser doesn't seem to be interpreting  the    javascript:void(0)  I can only suggest to re-install the JAVA interpreter you are using , either Microsoft VM Java or FREE SUN Java.

You can have both installed & if you install SUN Java IE will auto use SUN Java.
You can switch to VM Java by using IE , Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab , scroll down to JAVA & removed tick from SUN Java.

You can check if you have any Java installed by using the above method  or try to connect to this site
http://javatester.org/version.html  & if you are using either Java it connects & will show the Java you are using in Pink box.

If you wish to install either VM or SUN Java see this link
http://java-virtual-machine.net/download.html
& for VM download & install &  ...86.exe   link  then download & install a Windows Update link ...WU.exe

You can also scroll down to get SUN Java download link or use site
http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp  & select  FREE Download link at top.

I assume you are using the FREE SUN Java
so you could check it is being detected by trying  site http://javatester.org/version.html

I am using Microsoft VM Java , if you don't have it install also you could download it  from link I gave , also download the Windows Update link  & turn off the SUN Java as I already said.

Requires an IE Browser re-start when you turn SUN Java to enable  VM Java.
You the above site link to ensure you are now using VM Java.  (Browser re-start just close then open IE)

Sorry can't think of anything else apart from trying to use MSN Browser which XP also has.
Use "All Programs" > MSN Explorer.

I did try the MSN Explorer and it won't work that way either.  I've tried everything too.  Maybe someday I'll figure it out.  Thanks again.

Well I can only think if its not Java & affects both Microsoft Browsers you could check IE , Advanced tab & click "Restore Defaults".
Also check "Internet Options" > "Security" tab & "Privacy" tab are set to default.

If you want to see if its the Browser you could download FREE Mozilla from
http://www.mozilla.org/
as doesn't use any IE settings.
