I am seeing quite a few entries of individuals having problems with Java.   I have e-mailed customer support about 12 times over the past 2-3 weeks (for the same issue).  I keep getting a different technician who invariably redirects me to the same websites - Java, MS, etc, and asks me to download software again or review troubleshooting tips, all to no avail.  Okay, enough whining about the lack of technical expertise at Dell - would appreciate anyone letting me know what the fix is.  I tagged onto this entry to try to keep the Java errors together since I am guessing they may be related.  My error messages are as follows:

When using AOL and trying to use Java, I receive the following error message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\AOL 9.0\waol.exe
R6025
 - pure virtual function call

If I am in Internet explorer, and try to access Java, the following error message appears:

At the bottom of MIE is the message "Applet sysloader started"

and an error message appears:

"Microsoft Internet Explorer...

An error occurred in your application.  Clear the browser's cache, then retry.  If the problem persists, please contact technical support with the following information...

35 'style' is null or not an object"

Any ideas?  Thanks!

I think this might be better-answered in a java/xp newsgroup. That said do you have any java programs installed. Perhaps reinstalling it/them might help ?

Presuming you have XP SP! and not 1a can you disable java in Internet Explorer/Internet Options, close and reboot. Maybe run the SFC after that reboot if error still there.

Another member also has this problem with a site http://www.tripod.com/  which works OK for other users.
What site do you have problem with. ?
