I don't think you can find it that way. Open the Task Manager (by pressing ctrl + alt + delete). Click on the "Processes" tab. Find pcmservices.exe in the list, select it and press "Stop the service" or whatever the button is called. Unfortunately it starts back up again when you restart the computer, but there are various ways of preventing this which are listed in the threads linked to from this thread. I downloaded the "Startup Control Panel" (just google it). It puts an extra item in your Control Panel that lets you check or uncheck which programs load at startup. Or you can choose to run it as a standalone program instead of installing it into the control panel.
Windows XP does have an inbuilt function that controls startup programs, which you can get to by opening "Run" in the Start menu and typing in "msconfig", and choosing the Services tab. But I have no idea if you can stop pcmservices.exe that way or not, as the services don't seem to go by the same names as in the Task manager, so it might be in the list or it might not. Downloading Startup Control Panel is less confusing.

Been a bunch of posts here about keyboard lag on laptops with Dell Media Experience:

A search for "6400 lag" shows the same thing, so disabling pcmservices.exe is certainly worth a try.

Thanks but Task Manager gives me a dire warning about removing a process. Can this safely be ignored?
Regards.
