L702X XPS Win7 Drivers
Hi All
I hope you can help. I've had to do a fresh installation of Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit onto my laptop and the drivers disk that came with it doesn't seem to have all the drivers on it. When I have gone onto the dell drivers site, it only gives me the 64bit versions and I have tried to install a few of these but they are not supported.
Does anyone have a link to the old drivers the laptop would have come with or any help would be appricated.

Hi Tacoslammer
I got it just over a year ago and came with Win7 Home Prem 32bit so I kept with that. So with that I take it like you said reformat and install the 64bit version and then download all the drivers from dell?
Thanks

Best solution is to get a 64bit version of Win 7. Very few 32bit Win 7 even sold. Can't imagine why you would have a 32bit version to begin with.
64bit version more stable and more software for it. Unlike Windows XP which never had many 64bit programs available for the 64bit version.

Correct. I think if you insert the Windows 7 64bit DVD and follow the instructions, the process will format your drive prior to installing the new 64bit operating system. After it is complete, download and install the Dell drivers. The driver installation order is important. You may want to download them all to your desktop first but keep track of which is which for installation.
Be sure to install the drivers in the correct order to avoid problems. See here: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&docid=268873&doclang=en&l=en&s=gen&cs=

It includes additional information on installing the 64bit WIN 7. Pudgy One is a good source on installations if you run into a problem.

The Dell FTP website has more drivers: http://ftp.dell.com/Pages/Drivers/xps-l702x.html
Many of the drivers are 64 bit and 32 bit, however for the ones that are 64 bit only, the historical drivers may contain the 32 bit versions (link at the top of the page).
Note the download links for the historical drivers are a bit wrong e.g. http://ftp.dell.com/audio%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20/R300326.exe should be http://ftp.dell.com/audio/R300326.exe

Thanks Tacoslammer.
I'll dig out my 64bit version as I'm managed to download what drivers I could find on the site (not all per the web page) but will give it a go. The Dell page you linked didn't work but will keep trying that and see if this helps with the laptop.
Thanks

Try the link on the Pudgy One page. Sometimes the Dell editor goofs up the link. You can try just entering the full path in your browser address bar.
