When you click OK in the "Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog box you will be left with the "Internet Options" dialog box still open. You must click on the "Apply" button within this dialog box (see screen shot) in order for the setting to take effect. HTH
I totally understand there is an "apply" button that must be clicked in order for the proxy settings to take effect on IE. What is the deal if the "apply" button is "grey-ed out"? i.e. it's not functioning or available to be "clicked".
