Last Resort - Worked!

Question

I have a 5 year old 8200 - changed the DVD  4 months ago and have had problems since...DVD not recognised on My Computer etc etc etc. Bought a new cable from PC World last week - no help...updated drivers...yesterday lost sound. Looked at buying a new computer this morning as the 8200 was driving me nuts, but, one last try.   Remembered advice in this Forum to remove the battery for a few minutes ( the battery was replaced last year).   Re started - DVD recognised and working - sound is back...Dell might last me a while yet!   Thought to post this as I have had a lot of help from this Forum and it might just help someone else...if I DO buy a new desktop, it will be a Dell, partly because of the help found here...thanks guys. Matt35 -   May I recommend the new 'Dell XPS 730' it should be announced for sale starting tommorrow - or within the next couple of weeks.
