The driver version is not the same as the firmware version. In Device Manager, go to the Properties for the CD-ROM and click on Details tab. The list will probably be showing the Device Instance ID. Click the arrow next to that and scroll down the list to Firmware Revision. It may or may not show the firmware info for your particular drive.
If you're thinking of doing a firmware update, usually, but NOT always, the update software will prompt you by saying you have firmware version ABC, do you want to replace it with version XYZ? So you may be able to figure out if you have the latest version that way.
