Logitech V270 Bluetooth Mouse Vista Compatible?

Hi,

Last night, I updated from Windows XP to Windows Vista on my Inspiron E1705.  My Logitech V270 Bluetooth Mouse used to work wonderfully with XP, but I can't seem to get it to function in Vista.  Any ideas?  Thank you....

I've got mostly the same problem.  Inspiron E1705, upgraded to Vista Ultimate the other day, and have a Logitech V270 mouse.  However, my Bluetooth 350 card isn't listed under network devices.  When I upgraded, I had to remove the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack, and now it appears I have no Bluetooth functionality.  I tried installing both the 350 and the 355 drivers, as the Dell rep told me I should, but couldn't install either one.  One said I had a DFU file format error (meaning wrong OS), and the other, the 355, wouldn't even detect my 350 card.  Told me to turn it on, and it was already.

Anyone know of any solutions?

Are there any things listed as "Other" or "Unknown Device" in device manager. If Vista isn't detecting the BT adapter, it should come up as one of those. If it doesn't, then Vista isn't even seeing it, try resetting the BIOS defaults.

I have worked this very same problem for several hours before enlisting the support from my geek son.  Here is the solution.

There is no need to download V270 Drivers (Setpoint) from Logitech.  If you have done so, remove all Logitech Programs from your Laptop (Inspiron)

Even though Dell "updated" my BIOS during installation yesterday...there is a newer version so take this into account as I go through the sequence to get your Bluetooth mouse back up and running.  Using your Dervice Tag Number go out to Dell and go to the drivers download area.  Download the following say to your Desktop and then load them in the sequence below:
1. BIOS
2. Intelchipset
3. Bluetooth 355 (This roloads WIDCOMM) which Logitech says to delete????
4. Quickset

All of these were recently updated.

This should solve your problem.  My mouse is cooking again.
BTW my son believes that the BIOS and Bluetooth 355 installs are what really corrected the issue.

PS, now someone tell me why IE7 gets a fatal error unless the protected mode (unique to the Vista Version of IE7) is unchecked.

Good Luck

I haven't had too many problems with IE7 having fatal errors in protected mode.  In fact, I haven't even gotten around to turning it off protected mode.  I think it may have happened two or three times.  I'll keep tabs on it and let you know if I can come up with anything.

About the bluetooth issue, I did install BIOS revision 7, and still had the same problems.  I'll try the chipset, and Dell quickset, and see if I get better results.  Thanks!

the last dell tech I talked to said the v270 will never work.  he said to get a new mouse, by a different manufacturer from dell.
This is on a laptop I just bought.
I got them to send me a 350 bluetooth card instead of the 355.  It works alot better, but not completely.
Now I am getting the microsoft mouse......

I'll see what happens.

Still, the headset works at best as intemittantly as the mouse used to.

Its a vista deal.

After at least 14 hours with dell technicians over the last 30 days, 2 bluetooth cards, one mouse, one whole new computer,  All the solutions I am doing on my own, researching on the internet.

Anyone have a problem with "cursor jumping" ?

we vista users are the brave pioneers.

anyway, I am hoping the microsoft mouse works, (wih the microsoft system) who knows. Logitech basically told me they are not interested in my problems, so I am not interested in their products.

I must have replied to a different topic...  I actually got my V270 to work with my Bluetooth 350 card.  I've had a few issues where it wouldn't scroll properly, and its jumped a couple times, but otherwise its pretty smooth.  Make sure you've installed the new drivers for your laptop.  Delete whatever driver was already on your computer, and install the new chipset, BIOS revision 7, and the bluetooth drivers.  After that, I went into the bluetooth module in the control panel and made sure it could detect new devices and allow them to connect.

Just wanted to let you know that I came across your post. I had the same problem with my v270.  Logitech was no help at all.  I followed the directions in your post and now my mouse is working. Thanks.
