logon screen is on calssic mode

my logon screen is on the classic mode and i cant change it back to the original welcome screen. its annoyin coz i ave to put the user name as well as the password. i tried changing it through user accounts but it still dont work. i think its coz i had a virus on it a few days ago and might ave deleted it but can anyone help and get it back to normal? please?!!!

suggests a small regisry edit: start, run, type regedit, click OK.
 
In the registry editor window, use the + in the left pane to expand the tree (similar to windows explorer) to navigate to
 
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
 
Click on the Winlogon key to display its contents in the right pane.
 
Look for the value called LogonType.
Right click on it, click modify, change the data to 1 , click OK.
 
Close registry editor, restart your PC.

i typed 'regedit' on RUN but it didnt work. it says "windows cannot find 'regedit' please make sure you typed the name correctly and try again." i think my RUN program doesnt work aswell. is there any other way of fixing this problem?

thanks for the suggestion but it didnt work. the number was already on 1 but its still on classic mode.

I assume you have tried:  Right click on blank spot on desktop--Click Properties--Click appearance--See if Windows Classic Style is reflected under Windows and Buttons.  If so, change to XP Style.

try using run...control userpasswords2

uncheck box "users must enter a user name...." for each user name and ASPNET.

might work.

thats already on xp style. but thnx 4 tha suggestion.
