lost control panel also{scavenger hunt?}

Question

virus trojan;win32/renos .lost control panel and have system adminstrator message{ cannot acess }system restore same message had comodo virus protect no good,now have reg cure,live one,xoftspy,and adware se. finally after two days of continous scans got rid of virus,but still can not acess control panel or system restore, because of system administrator message.of which i am. tried right click start button not in there where is it.only .......who knows. can it be lost foreever? or can i find it some where else?its worse than a scavenger hunt!missing one clue

I suggest scanning in safe mode with your AV & avg anti spyware.   http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5   Try system restore in safe mode.   Tom

Fix System Restore by turning it off on System Restore tab in System control panel, reboot, then turn it back on and reboot again. That deletes the corrupted System Restore database. Now manually set a restore point and use it to restore the system so you know System Restore works again.

For the other problem, try running windows system file check:
click start>run
type in: sfc /scannow
(space between sfc and /)
click ok
Insert XP CD if sfc requests it and reboot when it's done.
